Techneeds Helps the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem NH Make the Holidays Brighter for Local Families in Need

Techneeds recently teamed up with Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem NH to make the holidays brighter for local families in need. Every year, The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem NH identifies families in need. They invite the parents to a private event where they are able to walk around and select items for their children. Without any major donator this year, Techneeds was very happy to step in and be their elves!

With $1,000 in hand, Techneeds split their elves up into teams, including their Lebanon and Portsmouth branches, to maximize their efforts in finding some great gifts for children ages three and older. The results were remarkable. They bought so many gifts, they couldn’t all fit under their office Christmas tree so they started filling up the tree itself!

“This is my favorite time of year because everyone on our team gets involved and can feel good about the impact that we are making on our local communities; we are fortunate to be a part of such a giving organization,” said Allison, VP of Operations.

The Techneeds staff loves this time of year when they get to bring out their inner-child as they walk around the aisles in awe of all the year’s hottest toys (and maybe even play with a few). This year, they were also asked to focus on items for older children, ages 10-15, so they were also able to bring themselves back to their tween years by purchasing great smelling body products (who knew Axe was still so popular?), cool looking nail polishes and make-up, sports equipment, and even some fun science gifts (like telescopes, microscopes, and robot building kits).

Techneeds Joins Forces with WAAF and The Greg Hill Foundation

WAAF Rock for Change

Techneeds has always been a great supporter of several charitable events throughout the year. The holidays are a special time for giving back to our local communities. Giving the feelings of true Christmas Spirit and Holiday Cheer is what it’s all about. This year, Techneeds was the premiere sponsor of the WAAF Rock for Change. The event allows you to either make instant donations or pay for your requested song to be played. Greg Hill (The Hill-Man) would haggle with you on the price that your song would cost. They’ll play anything (even if it’s not rock) for the right price.

All proceeds went to the Greater Boston Food Bank, The Worcester County Foodbank, and The New Hampshire Food Bank. In addition to being the premiere sponsor, the team also voted on their choice of song. They made an additional $1,000 donation in order to hear Rihanna’s song “Work”. The team had a great time listening to their song being played on the air. It even inspired them to (as the song says) “work, work, work, work, work, work.”

Jingle All the Way 5K

Another great event that Techneeds sponsored, was the 2016 Jingle All The Way 5K presented by The Greg Hill Foundation. It is a unique 5K taking place in Maynard, MA celebrating all that is special about the holiday season and where participants are encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts for their Christmas Toy Giveaway. Each year The Greg Hill Foundation provides toys to over 300 children in the New England area!

Techneeds is very thankful to all of those that have helped them give back to their local communities. They hope to continue to participate in more local community charity events in the future. Everyone from Techneeds would like to extend warm wishes for a happy holiday season to you and yours.
