Broken Bats for Broken Bones bb4bb_sig

In partnership with local minor league baseball teams, Technical Needs leads an awareness campaign throughout the baseball season.

Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) is a genetic bone disorder characterized by fragile bones that break easily. It is also known as ‘brittle bone disease.’ The term literally means “bone that is imperfectly made from the beginning of life.” A person is born with this disorder and is affected throughout his or her lifetime.

Each time a New Hampshire Fisher Cat or Lowell Spinner pitcher breaks an opposing player’s bat, Technical Needs will make a $50 donation to the OI Foundation. These donations help the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation to fund cutting-edge research into treatments and a cure, provide information and resources at critical times in people’s lives, and raise awareness about living with this brittle bone disorder.
