This Privacy Policy outlines how Techneeds, a US-based staffing agency, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information. We comply with applicable US federal and state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and similar laws in other states (e.g., Colorado Privacy Act, Connecticut Data Privacy Act, Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Utah Consumer Privacy Act). This policy applies to job candidates, associates placed with clients, website users, blog subscribers, contact form submitters, and representatives of clients, vendors, and business partners. It does not apply to Techneeds employees.

Information We Collect

We collect personal information through our website (applications, blog sign-ups, contact forms, onboarding portal), third-party job boards, phone, SMS, email interactions, events, social media, and client/vendor relationships. Categories include:

  • Contact details (name, address, email, phone);
  • Account credentials (username, password);
  • Employment/education history, skills, resume/CV;
  • Government identifiers (Social Security number, ID numbers);
  • Demographic info (date of birth, gender, citizenship, work authorization);
  • Financial info (bank details, tax info; to process payroll;
  • Health/disability info (with consent, where required);
  • Background check results (criminal, drug tests, with consent);
  • References and emergency contacts;
  • Communication preferences and opt-out requests.

We also collect automated data via cookies, web beacons, and analytics (IP address, device info, browsing behavior).

How We Use Your Information

  • Providing staffing services, matching candidates to jobs;
  • Contacting you via phone, SMS, email; human or AI/automation tools (with human oversight), compliant with TCPA and CAN-SPAM;
  • Managing accounts, processing payments, HR services (benefits, payroll, performance);
  • Assessing suitability, training, and career counseling;
  • Marketing (promotional emails, job alerts, with opt-out);
  • Analytics, business improvement, fraud prevention;
  • Legal compliance, audits, dispute resolution.

Processing bases: Consent (where required), contract necessity, legitimate interests (e.g., service enhancement, security), legal obligations.

Do you have to give us the Personal Information we ask for?

You are not required to provide your Personal Information to us, but it would not be possible for us to work with you, or provide our services to you, if you do not provide us with a required minimum. It also may limit the services that you can receive from us if you choose to provide us with limited Personal Information.

Transparency & Bias Mitigation

We commit to:

  • Disclosing when AI tools are in use, particularly in candidate screening or chatbot interactions.
  • Ensuring a human remains involved in all decisions.
  • Conducting bias monitoring and fairness checks to mitigate unintended impacts
  • Avoiding discriminatory assessments and ensuring equitable treatment.

Automated Data Collection and Advertising

We use cookies for site functionality and personalization. Types: Technical (essential), profiling (for ads, with consent where required). Third-party ads target interests; opt-out at aboutads.info/choices. Sites do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.

Information Sharing

We share with:

  • Affiliates, vendors (for services, bound by contracts);
  • Clients for job placements;
  • Third parties for analytics, advertising;
  • Authorities for legal reasons (subpoenas, safety);
  • In business transfers (mergers, sales).

Techneeds will never sell personal information under CCPA/CPRA, or other state-specific definitions.

We safeguard personal data using technical and organizational measures such as encryption, access controls, and audit protocols. We retain data only as long as necessary for recruitment purposes, legal compliance, or until you request deletion.

Legal Bases for Processing

  • Consent: When required by law (e.g., for SMS communications).
  • Legitimate Interests: To manage recruitment operations and improve candidate engagement.
  • Contractual Necessity: To process job applications and deliver recruitment-related services.

Your Rights

You may:

  • Access, correct, and delete your data;
  • Opt-out of communications/SMS (reply STOP, email unsubscribe@techneeds.com);
  • Opt-out of automated decisions, profiling;
  • Limit sensitive data use;
  • Request portability;
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising rights.

For CCPA/CPRA and similar state laws: California residents (and others in applicable states) have rights to know categories collected/disclosed/sold, request deletion, opt-out of sales/sharing. International Data Transfers

If data is transferred across borders, we ensure protection through mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards as required by law.
